What is new is being used for the timely dissemination of information on late developments that have a considerable impact on rural factors. Examples of such information could be, but not limited to, a national arbitration award, a national pre-arbitration regime, the filing of a national complaint, an adaptation of the EMA or an adaptation of the COLA. Since 1925 the Atlanta Postal Credit Union is side by side with its members by all difficulties. If you are a victim of a recent hurricane or other natural disaster that needs assistance, you can contact APCU for information on the qualifications and conditions of an emergency loan. Following construction in 10988 in 1962, the NRLCA and USPS concluded their first national contract agreement for agricultural companies. As a result of this contract, the heavy duty agreement or the payment assessment system (rural carriers are paid on the basis of an assessment of their respective routes). The obligations of all air carriers are credited and compensated accordingly). On August 12, 1970, President Richard Nixon signed the Postal Reorganization Act (PRA). The post office became a united States Postal Service, and the NRLCA became a union with collective agreements for wages and ancillary benefits. To join the NRLCA, you must be inserted by the USPS into the Rural Carrier Craft as Carrier Rural Associate (RCA), Substitute Rural Carrier, Rural Carrier Relief (RCR), Part-time Flexible (PTF), Assistant Rural Carriers (ARC) or Regular Carrier (Design Code 71).
The NRLCA provides information and scholarships to its members at regional, regional, regional and regional assemblies, where all members can participate in a democratic process of policy development of the Association. The NRLCA provides a monthly publication called The National Rural Letter Carrier to keep its members informed of post-legislative issues of interest. On April 25, 2016, President Jeanette Dwyer met with General Megan Brennan, a postmaster, and other post office officials at USPS headquarters to sign a new national agreement that is expected to run until 2018. This is the first agreement negotiated between the Post Office and the NRLCA in more than 20 years not to go into arbitration. NRLCA members ratified the agreement in April with 83% of the votes cast. The NRLCA negotiates all employment contracts of rural organizations with the post office, including salaries. Rural airlines are considered bargaining units within the USPS. This means that there is a contract between the Post Office and the NRLCA. Only the NRLCA can represent members of rural crafts in the appeal process, including protection in the event of disciplinary action.
On September 8, 1978, the NRLCA was the first postal union to agree on a new contract, when contract negotiations between the USPS and its unions led to an illegal postal strike. To view and download NRLCA`s public press releases, click HERE.
